What is 24/7 Sober Support?
Getting sober is one of the most difficult, if not the most difficult, thing an addicted individual will have to do in their life. There are many speed bumps, roadblocks, temptations, etc… out there and when someone tries to get sober alone it is more difficult than it has to be.
Sober support can be thought of as an additional wall of protection that helps ensure long-term sobriety. Our sober support service gives you access to one of our clinicians 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The benefits of this are immeasurable as you’ll be trying to change so many aspects of your life as you make your journey through sobriety that you never know when you’ll face a potentially dangerous moment. We’ll be there if/when this happens.
Dr. Cullen Hardy (co-founder of Midwest Recovery and Wellness and one of the nation’s top sober coaches) is usually the one on call so you will have a personal and direct lifeline to him at any time in case you find yourself about to get into a touchy or dangerous situation. As the saying goes, “Life happens,” and you want to have every advantage if you find yourself in situations or mental states that put your sobriety at risk.
Having your own personal sober support to call at anytime day or night drastically increases your chance of success, especially in early sobriety.
How does it work?
Should you choose to enroll in our 24/7 Sober Support service you’ll be given a phone number directly to Dr. Cullen Hardy (or whoever else is on call) and you can call at any time day or night.
You have entrusted yourself or your loved one to us and we take this responsibility very seriously. We want to offer every advantage to you so you can have the best chance of changing your life and discovering just how amazing living sober can be.
Quite often a phone call is all that is necessary when you give us a call but we will also be available to Skype or meet in person at the office at anytime.
We are often asked, “What if it’s 3AM and I’m having a difficult time and need to talk?”…Our response: No problem! That’s what we’re here for and if you need to meet at that time, we’ll arrange to meet at the office. Addiction never takes a break and neither do we.
Our only caveat is that, if you are already under the influence, we cannot meet in person due to safety and liability issues but our hope is that you will call BEFORE you engage in any addictive behavior.
Why would I need 24/7 Sober Support?
As stated above: Life happens.
We all encounter struggles in our daily lives and, if we are in early recovery, the chance of relapse is drastically increased when disaster strikes. Whether it be the loss of a loved one, a breakup of a relationship, an argument with a spouse, the loss of a job or any number of things that can occur during the course of our daily lives, we benefit from having the ability to reach out to someone with experience, compassion, care and a true desire to help you succeed in your sobriety.
It is said that the addicted individual, especially in early sobriety, lacks the ability to have an accurate self-appraisal so the immediate input and counsel of an addictions professional can be what turns a potentially disastrous situation that may lead to relapse into a learning experience that strengthens one’s sobriety.
