Kristine Stubelt, MS (Outpatient Clinician)

Kristy graduated from Central Michigan University with a Master’s degree in Psychology as well as a Specialist’s degree in School Psychology. She has spent the last 30 years working with families of young children. Kristy holds a limited license in Psychology as well as a School Psychology license. She has been certified in Triple P positive Parenting Program instruction as well as Love and Logic instruction. She has her infant mental health certification and has also received training in Theraplay techniques.

Kristine understands that children don’t come with instructions and that “one size fits all” parenting advice is not helpful. If you are a parent who would like help because an emotional or behavioral issue is hindering the daily activities of your child please reach out.

Therapy is designed to help children learn to cope, communicate, and become more emotionally expressive. When a child is depressed or has experienced a trauma of some kind, the main goal is to restore normalcy and boost self-esteem.

Common issues that children seeking therapy have faced include: divorce, abuse, mental illness, or death of a loved one.

Children express emotions differently than adults. It is not uncommon for children to act out emotionally or exhibit mood, sleep, and social disturbances because they are not mature enough to articulate their emotions effectively.

I will strive to understand the unique needs of your child and work closely with your family to develop strategies and tools to foster a happier and more enjoyable relationship.
